We left Delaney's hometown of Tianjin today. We are back in Beijing at the Novotel. Delaney has been doing awesome. She today seemed to really come out of ther shell. When we picked her up just a couple of days ago (has she really only been with us a couple of days...she feels like she has always been ours!!) Developmentally she seemed to be at a 12 month old age level....except she could kind-of-sort-of walk. But, today she really blossomed. She was laughing and actually making noises when she wanted us to look at something. She is also really started walking. She still likes having assistance walking by us holding her fingers but she can do it on her own. Slow and steady...but she can do it. A good 3 hours of our day was spent traveling back og th bullet train and going to and from the hotel....we spent the rest of our afternoon just hanging out in the hotel room in Beijing....we were all tired. Which brings me to about 30 minutes ago....Delaney had a major melt down. It didn't help that she was extremely tired....but when a baby cries like that I can't help but crying with her....she has lost so much in the last few days and has been such a champ at putting up with us...and everything that has gone on...She cryed for a good hour and is now crying again. I think tonight is going to be a long nite. Pray that this little one gets the sort of peace she needs to heal....she has had so many losses in her young life and I hate that we have to do this to her. I know in the end it is for the best....but heart wrenching cries are hard on everyone...... No pics s because I am writing this in the dark. |

I just shed a tear reading your post. But...it is so much healthier for Laney to cry it out and express her grief. So...while it is SO hard, count it as a blessing. I LOVE seeing your pics each day! Can't wait to see you all next week at the airport and future play dates. I was showing Caroline your pictures and she wanted to know if Laney was from "my China".
such a sweet girl and it's been hard on her; i think it probably hit her of what was going on; also the going from place to place doesn't help im sure; we all love you and pray that she will get some rest and become her sweet little self again; you guys are amazing with her; ive never seen a bond so quickly develop; keep up the great work; -aunt kris
Crying is good. Delaney is frightened. She is testing you. Seeing and feeling what you do for her. She will find comfort with you and the tears will fade.
The love you all are sharing is beautiful.
Prayers and Best Wishes,
Deb
awwww....praying for all of you! Bless her little heart! It is such a hard thing to watch, isn't it??? Just love on her and reassure her that you will always be there for her! Praying!!
Mare and Mike,
prayers for Laney and her parents. Remember this is not her normal or your normal. You can do this. You did this with our Bella. You are a great mom and dad.Remember during the crying that frustrations get out and acceptance is left..It's a big change for all three of you..love you so much..nanie
Praying for you all!
