We decided a few months ago, regardless of if we actually got to go to China this year, that we needed a break and wanted to go somewhere that was close to home and not too expensive. You all know, we do have a kid coming after all!!!
So, we decided to go to St. Louis and see the "Mighty Mississippi". I found out that on the 4th they have a city fair where they let off fireworks over the Mississippi River and have free concerts on the grounds where the arch is located. Cyndi Lauper was the artist this year. Right in time to get inspired for our 80's party over Labor Day. It was great and lots of fun. Here is my favorite picture of the arch....
We did all the St. Louis touristy stuff. We went to the top of the arch, saw Cyndi Lauper perform, saw some awesome fireworks, went to the zoo, took a ride on a River Boat, went shopping at Union Station, gambled at a Riverboat Casino, and finally went on a tour of the Budweiser Brewery Plant!!! I have to admit...the Budweiser tour was not the "Best Tour Ever" like the Coors Tour (please note....no friends were called during this tour like the last one!!!)...but was very impressed with the Budweiser facility. It is just beautiful!!!!! Oh, and Mike was really happy to be there too!!!!

PS...Did I mention that we the town we stayed in Collinsville, Illinois is the home of the "Largest Bottle of Catsup" in the world!!!!! Yep, what other blog has the biggest, bestest bottle of Catsup!!!! Here is the picture in case you didn't believe me....
And yes, to my Water Plant worker friend.....it is a water tower!!!!! Think you can get one of these for us????
